PHC Audiologist: Jessica Dwyer, M.A.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up on a dairy farm south of Wichita, Kansas.
Where did you go to school?
I went to high school at Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic School. Upon graduation I went to KU for a year and then transferred to Wichita State University (WSU) where I earned my undergraduate degree in Communicative Disorders and Sciences. I then continued my education at WSU and earned a Master's degree in Audiology.
Why did you want to become an audiologist?
Growing up I have always enjoyed being around older adults. I knew I wanted to be in the health profession and found that Audiology was a perfect fit for me.
What is your favorite area of audiology?
My favorite area of Audiology is Aural Rehabilitation. I really enjoy getting to know my patients better and providing them with more information, guidance , and help beyond amplification to improve their communication abilities. At Professional Hearing Center we have developed an aural rehab program that we offer our patients and the community on a quarterly basis.

I work in the Belton location.
Now some fun questions! What’s your favorite television show?
My most favorite television show is the Golden Girls. When I was in college I had a black and white television with only one channel. Golden Girls was always on and I fell in love with the show at that time.
If you could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be?
I have always loved the 1920's flapper dress.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
I would love to be somewhere warm and on the beach with my family. I think Jamaica would fit the bill!
